Brazilian Ambassador to Russia: “Our participation in the BRICS Games is possible”

The competitions will take place in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan in June 2024

Brazilian Ambassador to Russia Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares expressed the country's interest in participating in the BRICS Games, which will take place in Kazan in 2024.

“In January, Russia initiated various political, cultural, and economical events in the field of. We are interested in participating in these events. And I think our participation in the BRICS Games is possible,” -TASS quoted Soares as saying.

This year, the BRICS Games were held in Durban (South Africa) from October 18 to 21. The Russian national team became the winner of the medal standings. Athletes from the Russian Federation won 35 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals.

Earlier it became known that about five thousand athletes will take part in the BRICS Games, and the prize fund of international competitions will amount to 630 million rubles. The competitions are scheduled for June 12 - 23 2024.
