The Aide to the President of Russia explains why Kazan was chosen as the venue for the BRICS summit

The event will take place in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan in October

Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov explained the choice of Kazan as the venue for the BRICS summit in October 2024. According to him, the capital of Tatarstan has everything necessary to organize a meeting of world leaders at a high level.

“The city has a well–developed transport network, tourist infrastructure, and, in general, a comfortable modern urban environment,”- the speaker explained. In addition, according to Yuri Ushakov, the leadership of the republic of Tatarstan has necessary successful experience in hosting international forums.

Yuri Ushakov also said that members of the organizing committee for the Russian presidency of the BRICS constantly travel to Kazan to control in real time the preparatory work for the summit and for the meeting of numerous delegations of the states of the association.

“The organizing committee maintains close contacts with the leadership of Tatarstan, with all those who are locally responsible for the specific practical tasks facing the city on the eve of such a large–scale event,”- Yuri Ushakov assured in an interview with TASS.
