According to the results of the vote, the children's park on the Kazanka embankment has been named Elmay

More than 6,300 people took part in the vote

Over 6,300 residents of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan voted for the name of the children's park on the Kazanka embankment. Most of them chose the “Elmay” option. The name “Aida Park” took the second place in the vote, and “Su Balasy” the third.

“I am confident that the new children's park will become the new attraction for Kazan families, where they can spend time together. We hope the public space will bring only joy and smiles to children and parents. Let the name “Elmay” reflect the mood and spirit of the park for generations of children to come,”- said Rustem Gafarov, Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan.

The construction of the park is scheduled to be completed by the Day of the city and the republic. Currently, specialists are finishing concrete work on the site, installing storm sewer systems, electricity and lighting, and creating a drainage system.

“Children's playground equipment is being gradually installed and trees are being planted. Work is ongoing to install the roof and complete the pavilion. The concrete foundation for the paths for paving stones has been prepared. In collaboration with the Kazan Development Institute, the design and branding of the public space is being developed, which will reflect a children's theme,”- said Aigul Latypova, Head of the Parks and Squares Directorate. She invited residents and visitors of the city to attend the opening of the park on 30 August. The speaker reminded that the new 3.4-hectare public space would be located between the URAM Extreme Park and the National Library of Tatarstan. Work on involving children and their parents in the new green space had begun some time ago. In January, a workshop was held to discuss the space's future, where children aged 4 to 17 shared their ideas. Their proposals were refined by architects and designers, and incorporated into the final design for the park.

Residents were involoved when choosing a name for the park. Representatives from urban communities, including students from Kazan University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and participants in the Archideti project, were involved in the process.

Additionally, spot meetings with local artists and activists took place to gather their input and ideas.
