Kazan Night Race was held in Tatarstan capital city

The theme of the event was WorldSkills Kazan 2019.

(KZN.RU, July 21, Ksenia Shvetsova). Today, the Kazan Night Race was held in the Tatarstan capital city. It gathered all the amateurs of active lifestyle who decided to take part in the festival. The cyclists started from the stadium «Kazan Arena» at 22.45. The beautiful night views of the city, the interesting facts, the contest for the brightest costume, music, the entertainments, and other surprises were prepared for the participants by the organizers of one of the most unusual and sports festivals.

The gathering of participants was scheduled for July 20 at the territory of the stadium “Kazan Arena” adjacent to the eastern stand from 9 pm to 10.45 pm. Everyone could join the fest, registration for participation had been lasting until 10 pm on July 20.

The preparation for the sports festival was held in the atmosphere of holiday: the participants were enjoying the driving music while the youngest cyclists were being entertained by the animators. Before the start the cyclists could get some food. Some athletes preferred jogging to riding on bicycles - «Night Kazan - 2019» was held on the stadium territory. The amateurs and professional athletes ran the distances of 1,5 and 10 km.

Many participants were wearing the bright costumes with shining helmets and their bicycles were decorated with the garlands and lights. The contest for the brightest participant of the festival was held for them. Aliya Shaidullina was favored to win. «I wouldn't hold my breath, but I like idea itself - it adds more positive emotions to the Fest, - Aliya shared her impressions. - I was wearing an unusual shining helmet with a white pigtail. And I’ve decorated my bicycle brighter. I used to ride a bike only in the childhood, now seldom. But I enjoy working out, I’m constantly engaged in boxing. Therefore, I decided not to miss the event».

«I’ve been riding on the bicycle since I was 5. I don’t have a car, this is my main means of transport. Therefore, I’ve wanted to try my powers in the competition very much, - Radis Ganiev, 53-year-old participant, told. – Today I’ve came here together with my colleagues – the workers of «Kazanorgsintez». In general I believe that this important event is primarily for the youth».

As well 28-year-old Ainur Gilmutdinov joined the festival for the first time. «I found this event in the social media and then I wanted to participate in it, - Ainur told. – I’ve recently bought a bike, and today I’m going to test it».

The Night Cycle Fest was devoted to WorldSkills Kazan 2019, therefore the route passed on places and the objects of Sovetsky district. The column of cyclists left the sports arena and ride along Yamashev Prospect, the Sibirsky Tract, in Derbyshki through the streets Mir, Khalezov, Sovetskaya, Nachalnauya, Lipatov, Topolevaya, Glavnaya. Also, participants of the race rode along Nikolai Ershov Street, Vishnevsky Street, Millennium Bridge, Fatykh Amirkhan Prospect, Sibgat Khakim Street, and Chistopolskaya Street.

Several stops were planned on the way: near the Kazan Compressor Plant, the stadium «Raketa», the Kolkhoz market in Derbyshki (Lipatov Street), The Kompressorny Node, the Kazan Cooperative Institute.

Traditionally, the tour was broadcasted on the «BIM-radio». At each stop, the participants of the cycle fest listened to the stories recorded by famous speakers. Leila Fazleeva, the deputy prime minister of the RT, Damir Fattakhov, the minister of Youth of the RT, Alsu Nabieva, the rector of the Kazan Cooperative Institute, Roman Fatkhutdinov, the head of the Sovetsky district, and others are among them.

At the stops the new bicyclists were waiting for the participants to join them. «We live here, near the Kazan Compressor Plant, it was more convenient to us to start from the first stop, - Marina Karavaeva, the festival participant, explained. - My husband and I decided to take a ride through the city tonight. We are not sure yet that we will manage to go to the end, we just wanted to feel this atmosphere».

The column returned to the starting point at 4 am on July 21.

In 2018, the Night Bike Fest was held in Kazan on October 13 and gathered about a thousand participants. Athletes and amateurs rode through the significant sights of Kazan: the entrance gates of the city, the River Port and the Railway Station, the central parks and squares of the city, museums, restaurants, and other objects. The length of the route was 30 km.
