The first spring weekend in Kazan: Moto-Maslenitsa, Nordic walking, and a lecture on black holes

The portal KZN.RU has prepared a poster for the coming weekend.

(KZN.RU, March 1). Despite the calendar spring, snowy weekends will still allow visitors and residents of the city to enjoy winter activities, such as Nordic walking or ski competitions. And for those who already feel the glimpse of natural renewal in the spring air, you can visit a psychology festival, master a new dance trend, or start learning Spanish. Nordic walking

March 2 and 3 at 9 am

On March 2, classes will be held in the park “Komsomolets”. The meeting point is near the main entrance fr om Kurchatov Street. Registration is by calling: +7 (905) 317-03-52.

On Saturday, Kazan residents are also invited to classes at the park “Krylya Sovetov”. Registration is by calling: +7 (965) 587-79-97. All participants should gather near the dance floor.

On March 3, the training will be held in the park “Sosnovaya Roscha” (near the HoC “Khimikov”). The meeting point is near the playground. Everybody can sign up by calling +7 (965) 587-79-97.

A lesson on Nordic walking will also be held in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. The gathering of participants is near the ski base. Registration is by calling: +7 (905) 317-03-52.

The Moto-Maslenitsa

March 2 at 10 am

The Moto-Maslenitsa will take place on the highway “Elki” in Sukhaya Reka settlement. Visitors will be able to see the race on cross-country motorcycles and pit-bikes on a specially marked track, wh ere ice and snow are mixed with sand and water. Afterward, bikers will burn the scarecrow of Maslenitsa and make pancakes.

Festival of Psychology

March 2 at 11 am

The psychology festival “Three Spring Whales” invites residents and guests of Kazan to 3 free workshops with practicing psychologists who will share their experiences, their knowledge and help to get to know yourselves more deeply. Meetings with specialists are scheduled at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.

The event will be held in the creative space “Horizon”. Registration is required for participation.

A free master class in Brazilian capoeira

March 2 at 4 pm

Oskar Tahaviev, the head and coach of the school of traditional Brazilian capoeira, will hold an open lesson.

Capoeira is an amazing mix of martial art, games, acrobatics, music, and dance. The lesson is available for people with any level of physical skills, aged 10 years and older. An open Spanish class with a native speaker

March 3 at 1 pm

A free Spanish class will be held with a guest from Colombia in one of the Kazan language schools located at Kavi Nadzhmi Street, №8.

Lecture on Black Holes

March 3 at 6 pm

The Center for Contemporary Culture “Smena” launches a series of popular science lectures “Stephen Hawking's Universe”. The topic of the first lecture is “The Genius of Black Holes”. Dmitry Groshev, a graduate student of the Institute of Physics of the KFU, will tell about the main properties of black holes, the history of their research, and, of course, the essence of the amazing discoveries of the famous scientist Stephen Hawking. Listeners will learn what black holes can emit and even tell about additional dimensions of space.
