The first kindergarten with a group for hearing-impaired children opens in Kazan

The Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin looked around the preschool for 220 children.

A new kindergarten No.150 for 220 children has opened in the Novo-Savinovsky district of Kazan. This is the first preschool in the city with a group for hearing-impaired children. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the new kindergarten, which implements modern teaching methods. The head of the city looked around the facility, where children attend their first classes with teachers.

Six nursery groups for 120 children up to 3 years old

To date, about 76 thousand children attend kindergartens in Kazan, the Mayor of the city reminded. “An important task for us is to create all the necessary conditions for the development and education of children. The new kindergarten in one of the most densely populated areas of the city was very much awaited by parents”, - he emphasized.

The construction of a kindergarten with an area of 3,975 sq.m at 88a Chistopolskaya Street started in February of 2021 and was completed this winter. In total, there are 12 groups at the preschool, including 6 for children under three years old.

At the moment, the kindergarten is 85% full, the head of the kindergarten Natalia Babashkina told the Mayor. The most demanded, according to her, were nursery groups.

The head of the city looked around the playrooms, music and gym halls.

Speech pathologists and speech therapists assist hearing-impaired children

The key feature of the new preschool is the special group for hearing-impaired children. In addition, there are groups for children with general speech underdevelopment, as well as with phonemic speech disorders.

“Presently, only in our kindergarten there is a group for children after cochlear implantation, - Natalia Babashkina noted. - Such children need a special developing environment, assistance of a speech pathologist and speech therapist, as they often have speech problems. Such kids cannot attend regular groups”.

When working with hearing-impaired children, teachers use special speech cards and game teaching methods. A maximum of 9 children will attend a special group. “It is important to provide equally good conditions for all children, we are moving in this direction and opening specialized groups”, - I.Metshin said.

A special training program and garbage sorting with the help of toys

Physical education trainer Yuri Markov, a teacher of the highest qualification category, who developed the author's training program, conducts PE classes with children. According to his program, kids have physical training and learn to play various games. A sports ground has been equipped on the territory of the kindergarten, where children will be able to play volleyball and basketball.

Special attention in kindergarten will be paid to ecological education of children. With the help of toys – models of container sites for garbage, green spaces, dolls – kids learn to sort garbage and learn how to properly care for plants.

The Mayor of Kazan supported the idea: “If we start ecological education of children from such an early age, a completely different generation will grow up. Kids will be informed about ecology, garbage sorting and why it is necessary to plant trees. This is a big and important issue”.

The new kindergarten has everything for high-quality preschool education of children, Ilsur Metshin added. “These are development programs, new technologies, and modern approaches. No doubt, children will be happy here”, - he emphasized.
