The Uritsky Park will become a place of Slavic folk festivals

Kazan citizens will celebrate the Savior of the Apple Feast Day with the folklore holiday.

(KZN.RU, August 10). On August 19, folklore groups from different parts of Tatarstan and masters of folk art crafts will come to the Uritsky Park to take part in the annual celebration of the Savior of the Apple Feast Day.

This is one of the first harvest holidays in the summer season among the Slavs. In ancient times, it was believed that it was from the day of the Savior of the Apple Feast Day when nature began to prepare for the coming of autumn and winter. The traditional site for the celebration in Kazan is the Uritsky Park, every year people's festivities take place there.

Sweets made of apples will be sold in the park: pies, pastilles, tea, and even pizza. Artisans will open their tents and will teach pottery craftsmen, weaving on fingers and other kinds of folk-applied art, help to choose a memorable souvenir on the Slavic theme.

The entertaining program included fighting on the timbars, ancient folk games and fun, dances and performances of creative groups. The ensembles from Almetyevsk, Nizhnekamsk, Elabuga, and Nurlat regions will come to Kazan to acquaint the citizens of Kazan with Russian national culture. The festival starts at 2 pm, said the organizers.

On the next weekend, August 11, in the Uritsky Park will host a “Holiday of Good”. Everyone will be able to take part in the charity fair, attend the concert, and join the collection of recyclable materials.
