Ovechkin, Datsyuk, Morozov and Kovalchuk to play in Danis Zaripov’s farewell match

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, invited Kazan residents to visit the match and support the hockey players

Danis Zaripov's farewell match with the participation of world hockey stars Alexander Ovechkin, Pavel Datsyuk, Alexey Morozov, Ilya Kovalchuk and others will take place at the Tatneft Arena on August 9. This was announced at the Business Monday meeting by the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports Linar Garipov.

He noted that for the first time in the history of the Ak Bars hockey club, the game number of three–time world champion, five-time Gagarin Cup winner, Honored Master of Sports of Russia - player number 25 Danis Zaripov will be withdrawn.

The match will start at 19:00. Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin called on Kazan residents to visit the match and support the hockey players.

“I am sure that our hockey fans will pay special attention to the farewell match of Danis Zaripov,”- the head of the city noted.
