The experience of Kazan in the development of the charity culture is presented at the world government summit in Dubai

The Minister of Happiness of UAE highly praised the project “Good Kazan” and plans to visit Kazan.

(KZN.RU, February 13). The delegation of Kazan takes part in the VI World Government Summit, which takes place on February 11-13 in Dubai, by the personal invitation of Ohood Al Roumi, the Minister of Happiness of the United Arab Emirates. Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, and Rustam Ramazanov, a deputy of the Kazan City Duma and the initiator of the project “Good Food Truck”, joined the delegation of Kazan, which became the only Russian city participating in the summit.

The bilateral meeting between Ohood Al Roumi and Damir Fattakhov was held on February 12 as part of the summit. The experience of implementing the project “Good Kazan”, created in 2016 on the initiative of Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, was presented as one of the 12 priorities of urban development. Speaker told about the systemic principles of interaction with charitable funds and the main social projects: “Good Hands” and “Good Food Truck’, aimed at supporting the needy, the project “Baby Box”, the Angela Vavilova Hospice, and the Ronald McDonald House, the rehabilitation center “Yardem” at the Mosque, unique for the CIS countries, the forum “Good Kazan”, and the festival “Good Wave”.

Damir Fattakhov marked that the implementation of these projects is based on the principles of partnership between the authorities, the non-profit sector, business and private philanthropists who join efforts to improve the life quality of citizens.

Ohood Al Roumi, the Minister of Happiness, noted that the presented projects are important not only as local initiatives for the residents of a particular city but also as the contribution to the overall trend of spreading the well-being and happiness of people around the world. The Minister thanked the Mayor of Kazan for the invitation to take part in the Third Open Forum “Good Kazan: the development of the charity culture” in December 2018 and personally get acquainted with the projects implemented in Kazan.

The VI World Government Summit is held on February 11-13 in Dubai. The summit has become a global platform for discussing world trends with the participation of governments and leading world experts since 2013. Ban Ki-moon, the ex-UN secretary general, Jim Yong Kim, the President of the World Bank, Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Barack Obama, the former President of the USA, Ilon Mask, the world-famous inventor and entrepreneur, and other persons from all over the world were the speakers of the summit in different years. This year representatives of 150 countries and leaders of 16 international organizations take part in the summit.

The Global Dialogue on Happiness, initiated by the Ministry of Happiness of the UAE, is being held for the second time in the framework of the summit. The agenda is devoted to ensuring well-being for the inhabitants of the whole world, regardless of their age, nationality, social status, and initial opportunities. The creation of comfortable working conditions, provision of equal opportunities for education regardless of physical health limitations, care for the mental health of adolescents, and many other aspects of happiness are discussed within the framework of the Global Dialogue on Happiness.

Experts are leading scientists who specialize in studying various aspects of happiness from Great Britain, the USA, Australia, the Netherlands, the authors of the notorious bestsellers about happiness in Scandinavian countries, futurologists, heads of state authorities responsible for education and culture in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and Goldie Hawn, an Oscar-winning Hollywood actress and a founder of the charitable organization “Hawn Foundation”.
