The office of the tourist information center of Kazan moved to Bauman Street

During the first five days of work, it received a third more tourists than a year ago on Kremlevskaya Street.

(KZN.RU, April 27, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). The new office of the tourist information center was opened in Kazan on Bauman Street, №49/10. Experts with knowledge of English advise city visitors on the sights of Tatarstan, the transport infrastructure, and the events schedule.

To date, 3 offices of the tourist information center have worked in the city: at the Kazan international airport, on the streets of Pushkin and Kremlyovskaya. The latter closed, the new one came to replace it. "Moving to the site on Bauman Street, the most popular street for our tourists, is a gift of fate. I am happy as a leader and a person who has been working in tourism for a long time. I understand that moving here is an opportunity for more information coverage of tourists and creating more comfortable conditions for our guests”, said Natalia Abramovich, the general director of the tourist information center, at the opening ceremony of the office. “The May holidays start tomorrow. The hotels are full, and we expect a large flow of tourists. So moving to the Bauman Street on the eve of May holidays is, I believe, a correct step”. The technical opening of the office took place on April 20, the official opening is today. Over the first 5 days, the staff serviced over 250 tourists, which is almost a third more than at the same time last year, when the tourist information center was located at Kremlevskaya Street.

The new office is decorated in the style of Visit Tatarstan. It is open daily fr om 9 am to 9 pm. It employs staff with knowledge of English. They can tell about the sights of Kazan, the island-towns Sviyazhsk, Bolgar, Yelabuga, Chistopol, consult on the work of public transport, the location of an institution, talk about upcoming events. There you can get free tourist maps of Kazan and Tatarstan in several languages: Russian, English, German, Chinese, and Spanish. One of the novelties of the office on Bauman Street was the “Events Schedule” guidebook for every month that has been issued since December of last year, as well as a souvenir shop. There are Visit Tatarstan's products on showcases: smartphone cases and boots, backpacks and water bottles, more than 70 items in total.

“World experience shows that tourist information centers are the main tool for providing and receiving information services for guests. They make it possible to create comfortable conditions for their stay, regardless of their place of residence”, said Aigul Balakhontseva, the head of the tourist product promotion department of the State Committee for Tourism of the RT. “The tourist should be happy with us and, happier than elsewhere. He should be relaxed, balanced, should not be afraid of getting lost, not getting information or being misunderstood. Therefore, our main priority is the creation of modern, convenient information support services”.

The Football World Cup-2018 will be held from June 14 to July 15. Kazan will host six matches in the group stage. On June 16, France will meet with Australia, on June 20 – Iran with Spain, on June 24 – Poland with Colombia, and on June 27 – Korea with Germany. The game of 1/8 finals will be held in Kazan on June 30, and 1/4 finals on July 6. Thanks to the project “Hospitable Kazan”, it is planned to open several mobile tents on the streets of the city, wh ere volunteers will help tourists from June 1 to September 1.
