A new school in the M14 residential area in Kazan to open by September

<p> A school for 1,224 students is being built in the M14 Kazan residential area. All work is scheduled to be completed in August, including landscaping. On September 1, the educational institution will welcome the first students, unloading nearby educational institutions. A sports area will be equipped next to the school: a running track, a football pitch, a hockey rink and workout equipment will be installed here. In addition, landscaping of the territory will be carried out. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin got acquainted with the progress of construction works today. </p> <p> This year, by September, three new educational institutions will open in the city: schools in the M14 residential area (for 1,224 students), the Rodina residential complex (for 1,224 students) and the Vesna residential complex (for 1,501 students). Ilsur Metshin noted that the capital of the republic has not lost pace in the construction of social facilities for several years and today occupies a leading position in this area among the million-plus cities in Russia. </p> <p> “Kazan is one of the leaders in Russia in terms of the housing being commissioned, and we have set the task to ensure that the social infrastructure does not lag behind. Over the past 10 years, we have built 177 social facilities, of which 90 are kindergartens and 25 schools. We are the absolute leaders in Russia in terms of the number of commissioned social facilities. The exceptions are Moscow and St. Petersburg, because these are not municipalities, but subjects of Russia,”- the head of Kazan noted. </p> <p> Ilsur Metshin said that 63 sites have been reserved in the city for new schools and 134 for new kindergartens in the coming years. </p> <p> The M14 residential area is also growing rapidly. Now about 2,350 people live in four houses along Andrey Ado Street. After the settlement of houses along the streets of Belye Rosy and Alexey Kazem-Bek, the number of residents will increase by 1,500. In the coming years, 14 more apartment buildings will be built in M14, and then the population of the neighborhood will reach 12 thousand people. </p> <p> The new school will become the first municipal educational institution in M14. Now children from this neighborhood attend the school № 186 on Rauis Gareev st., which has already exceeded the designed capacity, so some students study in the second shift. </p> <p> “The educational institution is designed for 1,224 students, we will hand it over by September 1. The contractor promises that the keys will be handed over by the beginning of August so that the teachers and the director can prepare for the new school year. Our builders have learned how to do their work efficiently and quickly, literally in a few months,”- Ilsur Metshin said. He instructed to discuss the design of the building and premises with teachers and parents. </p> <p> The total area of the school will be 19,300 square meters. 52 classrooms, a dining room with 612 seats and an assembly hall for 306 students will be located on three floors of the building. </p> <p> A multifunctional year-round sports ground will be located at school. Outside, in summer, children will be able to train on simulators, play football on a special pitch, and in winter – play hockey or skate. A picnic area is also provided – a lawn will be laid on the territory of the educational institution. </p>
