New Year's look for Kazan: 500 light stands, hundreds of string lights and new art objects

<p> The New Year’s decoration is launched in Kazan: parks and squares are shining with bright colors, new holiday art objects are being built. In total, 5 large squares, 18 public spaces and10 highways will be decorated in the capital of Tatarstan this year, and more than 500 light stands will be installed, said Azat Abzalov - head of the Department of culture today at the Business Monday. </p> <p> Presently, the work on the holiday decoration of the city continues. So, now the light installations are being equipped at the Soviet square, at a monument to Mullanur Vakhitov and at the Svobodu square. Bridges across the Bulak lake were decorated with LED lights illumination, spangles and light sets on the New Year theme, including valenki, bells and snowflakes. </p> <p> Bright and colorful New Year’s decoration stands in front of the Kazan Kremlin- at the Millennium square a new art object was installed in the shape of numbers 2020. The same art object appeared on the territory of the Old Tatar settlement. And at the square in front of the theater named after G.Kamal was installed a light composition “Lilies”. </p> <p> This year, according to Azat Abzalov, the New Year’s decoration will appear at almost all parks and squares of the city. </p> <p> As in 2018, the pedestrian Bauman street will be dressed in a holiday decor. “A parade of bells will become the culmination here, which will take place on December 21”, – said the head of the Department of culture. - The theatrical heroes will walk along the main pedestrian street, perform their favorite New Year’s song “А Christmas tree was born in the forest” and light 32 bright arches made by Italian decorators in a new color solution”. </p> <p> The mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, in turn, noted that the New Year’s decoration of the city should not be stopped by a snowfall, which forecasters predict for this week. “The city promises to be elegant and festive. All district’s main venues, parks and squares will be decorated - I.Metshin told. – The weather gods promise us snow this week for a New Year’s mood. But we need to keep this under control. To clean the streets in a timely basis, so that everything will be elegant and awesome, without snowdrift”. </p>
