During the New Year holidays, about 600,000 people visited events in Kazan parks, which is 100,000 visits more compared to last year. This year, several new sites were open, such as the sites at the Art City residential complex, on Serova Street and the Elmay Children's Park. This information was announced at a briefing at the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers.
The head of the Department of Culture Azat Abzalov reported that two festive sites were open- at the Kazan Family Center and Black Lake Park, which welcomed 40,000 city residents and guests of the city.
«We have been focusing on the theatrical New Year performances. On 1–6 January, theater studios including Apush and Operenie performed at the Kazan Family Center, as well as artists of the philharmonic», – Azat Abzalov said. A troupe from the VOKRUG association in St. Petersburg also came to tour the capital of Tatarstan and presented a performance. The final festive event will take place at the Kazan Family Center on January 13 and will be dedicated to celebrating the old New Year.
During the New Year holidays, more than 200 performances took place in the recreational centers of the city.
The Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve also became a popular place for visitors and hosted theatrical performances and a concert by the Murakami group. About 275,000 people visited the Kremlin during this time, according to Yulia Adgamova, the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Tatarstan.
