The next series of popular science project will be held in the KFU.
(KZN.RU, September 3). On September 12, the Kazan Federal University will host the IX series of the popular science project “PRONauka In the KFU”. This time, the main building of the KFU will be the site for the night of science.
2018 was announced in Tatarstan and at the Kazan Federal University as the year of Leo Tolstoy. The IX series of popular science project “PRONauka in the KFU” under the title “Night in the Imperial” will be held in the KFU on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of the great writer L. Tolstoy and the 275th anniversary of the statesman and poet G. Derzhavin.
Teachers of the Kazan Federal University, delivering lectures, will answer the questions why Tolstoy was not given the Nobel Prize, how the writer was resting in his youth, what principles G. Derzhavin followed, and which of the adaptations of Tolstoy's works are considered classic.
Andrey Kochubei, the Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Vice-President of the Tolstoy Fund in New York, the great-grandson of the Decembrist Sergey Volkonsky, and a relative of Leo Tolstoy, will also give a lecture. Galina Alekseeva, the head of the Department of Scientific Research Work of the museum-estate of L. Tolstoy “Yasnaya Polyana”, the president of the International Committee of Literary Museums and Museums of Composers, will tell about the alter ego of Tolstoy.
The program of the project also states traditional smart entertainment for children and adults: games, excursions, master classes, and quests. For example, the game of knowledge of children's works L. Tolstoy, an exhibition of rare books, master classes on historical dances and ancient ligature, a quest for Tolstoy places in Kazan, and much more.
Everyone will be able to improve skills of speed reading and oratorical skills, learn about the life of Russian and French armies in the time of Napoleonic wars, visit museums of the KFU, consult about enrolling to the selection committee of the KFU, and win prizes in various intellectual contests.
