The WorldSkills National Championship in Kazan will open with a bright prolog at “Tatneft Arena”

<p> (KZN.RU, May 20, Ksenia Shvetsova). Today the final of the WorldSkills national championship begins in Kazan. Championship competitions will be held from 21 to 23 of May at the “Kazan Expo”, as well as at five mobile sites. 1500 contestants will take part in them, more than 14000 guests are expected. The championship will open with a bright prolog in the ice palace “Tatneft Arena”. The national championship will be a rehearsal for the world championship of WorldSkills Kazan 2019, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, at the Business Monday today. </p> <p> Competitions of the national championship will be held according to the competencies of six blocks of professions: construction, information and communication technologies, creativity and design, production and engineering technologies, services, as well as transport and logistics, said Ildar Shakirov, the deputy head of the Executive Committee. </p> <p> In total, 92 WorldSkills competencies will be presented at the sites, including 56 world championship competencies, 48 WorldSkills Junior championship competencies and another 26 WorldSkills “Skills of the wise 50+”. More than 1500 contestants from 85 subjects of the country, more than 1500 experts and 1800 volunteers will take part in the championship. More than 14000 guests will visit the competition. </p> <p> “Since the championship is open for everyone, it has already attracted the attention of international participants. 164 competitors from 23 countries will visit it as a training ground before the world one”, said I. Shakirov. In addition, more than 20 thematic sessions are planned with the participation of representatives of government bodies, enterprises and educational institutions as part of the business program of the championship, he added. They will discuss the preparation of the national team, personnel standards, industrial growth, the results of the regional championship, the development of the expert community and youth projects. </p> <p> The Executive Committee covers 5 competencies in the preparation for the championship: floristics, cooking, confectionery, restaurant service, and hairdressing. 14 contestants reached the finals. </p> <p> Everyone will be able to watch the course of the championship, after registering and receiving a ticket on the website tickets.worldskills.ru. On the same website, you can see the program of the event. </p> <p> The closing ceremony of the national championship will also be held in the ice palace “Tataneft Arena” on May 24. </p> <p> The national championship is the last stage in the selection of the Russian team for participation in the world stage, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. “We hope that our Kazan children will show their skills, that the home presence, fans, and all this will allow them to perform at the highest and represent Russia in August at the world championship”, said the Mayor. “The national stage is the rehearsal of the August world championship for us. It promises to be the most widespread in terms of membership and coverage of countries. I ask all those responsible to check everything once again, it must be flawless in August. This is a systematic responsible organizational work as part of a team with colleagues from the Government of the Republic under the leadership of our President”. </p> <p> The finals of the national championship are the most large-scale professional skills competitions among students of secondary vocational schools in the age of 16 to 22 years old. It contributes to the vocational guidance and implementation of the best international practices in the national education system. This year, “Skills of the wise 50+” professional skills competitions for specialists over 50 years old will also be held along with the main championship. </p> <p> The world championship WorldSkills Kazan 2019 will be held from 22 to 27 of August. A record number of contestants and experts in the entire history of the WorldSkills movement will attend it: 1377 contestants from 67 countries of the world. </p>
