The airport and public transport continue to operate in regular mode
During the Games of the Future in Kazan, 400 vehicles on 282 routes, including reserve ones, will be used to transport participants of the phygital tournament. The main flow of participants will arrive at the airport, but it continues to operate without changes in the schedule of regular flights, Marat Khisamutdinov, head of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of Tatarstan, said at a press conference.
“During the peak days of the Games of the Future, the airport will receive about 80 international and domestic flights,” - the speaker said.
Of the 400 vehicles, 95 are branded for the tourist class, and another 60 vehicles are branded minibuses.
“If you see such vehicles in the city, please be understanding and let them pass on the roads,”- Marat Khisamutdinov addressed Kazan drivers. At the same time, the speaker noted that the tournament will not affect citizens in any way – public transport will continue to operate normally.
According to Marat Khisamutdinov, commuter trains to the Kazan Expo will run on an enhanced schedule with trains with six cars (instead of four).
“The interval between flights will be about an hour. Travel time is 25 minutes. The price will not change – it is 62 rubles. Volunteers and accredited persons on special trains, which are additionally introduced in the interval between regular flights, will have the opportunity to travel for free,”- the speaker said.
The commuter train schedule will not change: Trains will run from 6:30 to 22:30. But it is planned that during the "Games of the Future" 14 trains will run from Kazan to the airport, and 15 will return.
According to Alexey Sidorov, Chairman of the Transport Committee of Kazan, traffic restrictions will be imposed on a number of streets and temporary road signs will be installed during the tournament.
“The main traffic routes and dedicated lanes have been cleaned, work is underway around the clock. All contractors are focused on the primary cleaning of public transport lanes,”- he said.
For reference, Games of the Future will take place in Kazan from February 21 to March 3. They will be conducted in new disciplines using modern technologies, the digital environment and physical activity. About 2,000 people from 107 countries will take part in the competition.
