A short race, half marathon, marathon and children's race are also scheduled.
Kazan ski marathon will be held in the capital of Tatarstan for the 53rd time. On March 7, participants will run freestyle the distance of one of Russia's most prestigious ski races.
The competition will include a short 5 km race, a 25 km half marathon, a 50 km marathon, as well as a 500 m children's race and a race in skirts arranged to coincide with the upcoming International women's day – participants will run a distance of 1 km. The marathon’s prize money this year will be 1 million rubles.
Registration for the race is open. Presently, more than 160 people applied for the competition. Last year, more than 700 cross-country skiing fans and professional athletes took part in the ski marathon.
Since 2017, the Kazan ski marathon has been part of the Russialoppet - Russian series of long-distance races. Since 1997, Russialoppet has been an organizer of leading races in Russia.
The race will take place on March 7 at the Lokomotiv stadium in the village of Yudino.
