600 applications were filed for the republican contest “Woman of the Year. Man of the Year: A Women's Opinion”

The results of the competition will be summed up on March 7 at the GSCH named after S. Saidashev.

(KZN.RU. February 28, Alena Miroshnichenko). On March 7, on the eve of International Women's Day, the annual Republican contest “Woman of the Year. Man of the Year: A Woman's Opinion” will take place in the Grand State Concert Hall named after S. Saidashev. Winners will be announced in 8 female and 2 male nominations. Zilya Valeeva, the chairperson of the Regional Public Organization “Women of Tatarstan”, the director of the State Historical-Architectural and Art Reserve-Museum “Kazan Kremlin”, the founder of the competition, told about the results of the municipal and zonal stages of the competition at the press conference in the IA “Tatar-inform”.

This year, 600 applications from almost all regions of Tatarstan were submitted for participation in the contest. 272 contestants went to the zonal round, 138 of them became participants in the republican stage. The speaker noted that a zonal tour takes place annually in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, and Nizhnekamsk as a city competition.

The competition has been held since 1995. “We started to conduct it by the forces of the Regional Public Organization “Women of Tatarstan”. Then our partners were the Federation of Trade Unions of the RT, the Commissioner for Human Rights, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the RT. In general, the organization of the competition has undergone changes, it has risen to a fairly high level”, said Z. Valeeva.

The winners will be announced in the nominations: “Woman as Mother”, “Woman as Culture and Spirituality”, “Woman as a Scientist”, “My Fate is My Profession”, “Woman as a Leader”, “A Business Woman”, “Hero of the Third Age”, and “Woman as an Example of a Year”.

Zilya Valeeva noted that the nomination “Woman as Mother” is the most difficult for the jury. “Mothers of many children who have raised three or more children, as well as women who have adopted children in the family, take part in it. The invaluable experience of these women is an example that must always be seen. For many people, the search for happiness can take the whole lifetime. And our contestants skillfully build their lives and experience true happiness because they are always surrounded by children. In this category, there are always touching and instructive stories”, said Z. Valeeva.

The nomination “Woman as Culture and Spirituality” is provided for women humanities scholars, “Woman as a Scientist” is for experts of the scientific sphere. The nomination “My Fate is My Profession” was created for those who work in production: in agriculture, in the industry, and in other areas. The speaker noted that there this nomination will have 7 winners. This decision is due to the fact that the year 2019 in the republic has been declared the year of working professions.

Also, “Business Woman”, “Woman as an Example of the Year” and “Woman as a Leader” will be mentioned in the contest. “Not only women who occupy high government positions, but also those who work in agriculture, business, help children, lead active social policies and transform the world around themselves, become winners in the nomination “Woman as a Leader”, explained Z. Valeeva.

“We admire how skillfully modern women can combine work, business, family, and raising children”, added the speaker.

The second part of the competition is the choice of “Men of the Year”. The competition provides for the nomination “Man as Leader” and “Man with a Noble Heart”.
