Augmented reality technologies will be used at the opening of the WorldSkills Championship in Kazan

3D effects will appear in the virtual space of the stadium “Kazan Arena”.

(KZN.RU, August 21). Tomorrow, the opening ceremony of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 will take place at the stadium “Kazan Arena”. Guests will enjoy a large-scale spectacular show staged using augmented reality technologies.

The show involves the use of many new technologies, in particular, AR technology (augmented reality), and the audience will become part of it. 3D effects will appear in the virtual space of the stadium “Kazan Arena”.

Spectators in the stands will be able to watch AR-effects through the screens of their gadgets using the WSK 2019 AR Experience, specially developed for the ceremony, as well as on the information screens of the stadium. Special signals on the screens will warn the citizens about the appearance of the next AR effect. TV and webcasts viewers will see AR effects in full, reports the ANO “Directorate of Sports and Social Projects”.

The organizers recommend downloading the free WSK 2019 AR Experience app in advance and updating it just before the show.

The opening ceremony of the championship will be accompanied by a show staged by the team of Igor Krutoy, a producer and the People’s Artist of Russia, and Alexey Sechenov, a director. It will be attended by Russian pop stars, bands of Kazan and the RT.
