“After Thaw. Art of the 1970-1980s” will be held from May 24 to September 2.
(KZN.RU, May 22). The exhibition of paintings of artists of the “post-thawed” era will open on May 24 in the gallery “Khazine”. The exposition “After Thaw. The Art of the 1970s-1980s” includes works that were have never been exhibited to the general public.
Two decades, which the exhibition is devoted to, are considered an important stage in the development of Russian art. This is a time of great stylistic diversity and high activity of masters.
The centerpiece of the exhibition will be a painting of the Soviet artist Yuri Korolev, who became famous for his cosmos works. This time, Kazan citizens will see the “Portrait of Leonid Brezhnev”, drawn in 1981 in the style of pop art. For the first time, cartoons on the famous Soviet Tatarstan artists will be shown made by Alexander Rodionov, who usually preferred military themes, as well as paintings by Alexander Sitnikov, Evgeny Strulev, and others. The exhibition will be open until September 2, reports the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the RT.
