On December 16, Kazan will host the New Year's “EcoFest”, where citizens will be told the main principles how to live ecologically and not to refuse the available benefits of civilization. Bloggers, volunteers, and founders of environmental organizations will share their experience and knowledge at lectures. Listeners will have examples, infographics, and life stories.
Among other things, visitors of the festival will learn how to start separating waste and overcome the first difficulties, where to bring recycled materials, clothes, and other things they don’t use, how to meet the New Year ecologically, what to do with organics in the city. Also, they will learn how to live ecologically if there are children in the house, how our food influences the environment, what a “green” university is and what opportunities there are for students in the field of ecological initiatives, and much more.
You could use the “waste-free” principles at practical master classes. Eco-artists and volunteers will learn to make Christmas decorations from thing people usually throw in the trash. The children's area will work for kids so that they too can join the eco-friendly lifestyle through games and the creation of handicrafts.
At all festival sites, there will be riddles of the quest for solving. It is suitable for those who do not like to sit in the classrooms. Participants will learn how to arrange a separate collection at home, in the office or to organize a city-scale eco-event. They will learn the concepts of “ecological mark” and “Zero waste”. The quest will be held in the form of a game with prizes from the festival organizers.
The EcoFest will end with a screening of the movie “The Bears of Kamchatka. Beginning of life”. The film presents rare footage of the first year of life of brown bear cubs from coming out of a den in spring to autumn hibernation. The crew spent seven months in the reserve in Kamchatka for this the film.
In addition, a fair of eco-friendly products and a healthy food site from shops and cafes in the city will work at the EcoFest.
The festival will be held in the residence of creative industries “Shtab” at the address Tatarstan, №20, from 12 pm to 7 pm, said the organizers.
