The excursion retro tram has been officially launched on the roads of Kazan

It will run on a specially designed timetable in the days of the championship.

(KZN.RU, June 7, Ksenia Shvetsova). Today the excursion retro tram has been officially launched on the roads of Kazan. At noon, an unusual transport starts from the Railway Station to the River Port. It transported his first tourists for free. Passengers who drove through the historic part of the city were treated with national Tatar pastries and tea and told interesting facts about the capital of Tatarstan.

From June 1, the retro tram was launched in a test mode and successfully passed it.

Daria Sannikova, the director of the Committee for Tourism Development, said that last year, the tram also went on the Kazan roads. But because of the started repair of tramways on Tatarstan Street, the route was canceled. It traveled for about two months in Kazan. However, even during this time, guests and residents of the capital of Tatarstan had time to evaluate the unusual transport, and this year they were eagerly awaiting the resumption of the route. “We received a great response from tourists, visitors, and residents of Kazan. Even residents from other cities want to see it. We received regular inquiries, people were interested when they would have the opportunity to travel in a retro tram, to feel its atmosphere. The atmosphere and color of our city are transmitted through this retro tram”, she said and added that there are similar retro trams in almost every tourist capital.

An audio guide was developed especially for the tram passengers, detailing not only the route, but interesting facts about the capital of Tatarstan. The audio guide is issued to each passenger individually, it broadcasts in seven languages: Russian, Tatar, English, Spanish, French, German, and Chinese. This will allow tourists who come to Kazan from other countries to enjoy a trip in an unusual transport.

This is especially relevant on the eve of the World Cup. According to D. Sannikova, during the period of the championship, the retro tram will run on a specially designed timetable. By the usual schedule, it goes to the road 4 times a week. During the World Cup, the tram will work for the day of the match, on the day of the match and during the day after the game, as well as on other days on the schedule. Such a schedule was drawn up especially for guests who are planning a trip to Kazan for a short period to attend the match.

The route of the tram and audio guide was compiled together with the Guild of Guides of the RT. “The tram goes along the historical part of the city. We tried to include in it interesting places of our city and interesting information in the audio guide”, said Daria Sannikova.

A company of tourists who came to Kazan just a few days ago was among the first passengers of the retro tram this year. “We plan to stay in Kazan until the end of the week. Of course, we were very impressed with the city”, said Anastasia Danilova, the inhabitant of Belarus. “We came with friends, all of us from different cities. We really like the city. We knew that today a retro tram is launched, and came to take it. In my opinion, this is a great idea”.

Passengers of the tram can buy an ordinary ticket, which includes a trip with an audio guide, it will cost 200 rubles. A combined ticket for 300 rubles includes snacks: tea and national Tatar pastries, patties, triangles, chak-chak, and more. This year the tram passengers will be able to buy a ticket for non-cash settlement.

All passengers who bought a ticket for a tram have the opportunity to take-off at any stop, take a walk around the city, and go back to the tram at any other time. The ticket is valid all day long.
