Leo Tolstoy's descendants will give lectures at the festival “PRONauka in the KFU”

The ninth series of the popular science project, dedicated to the anniversary of the Russian writer will be held on September 12.

(KZN.RU, August 28). The ninth series of the popular science project “PRONauka in the KFU: Night in the Imperial”, dedicated to the anniversary of Leo Tolstoy will be held on September 12 in the main building of the Kazan Federal University. The program includes lectures of the descendants of the Russian writer from New York, thematic master classes, and “smart entertainment”.

Andrey Kochubey, the vice-president of the Tolstoy Foundation in New York, the descendant of the Russian writer, will give a lecture at the popular science festival. Also, Galina Alekseeva, the head of the department of scientific research work of the museum-estate of L.N. Tolstoy “Yasnaya Polyana”, will take part in PRONauka. She will talk about the importance of the family estate in the life and work of the writer.

Also, university professors will discuss such interesting topics as Tolstoy and the cinema, why he was not given the Nobel Prize, what he was like in his youth, and also they will analyze his works using computer technology.

In addition, the organizers prepared a busy program of “smart entertainment”: master classes on oratorical skills, historical dances, speed reading and ancient Russian ligature. There will be interactive games, exhibitions, excursions, shows, and quizzes. In addition, activities for children and schoolchildren and a career-oriented headquarters for future entrants will be organized.
