The culmination of the festival will be a gala concert on April 13 at the NCC “Kazan”.
(KZN.RU, March 16). The ensemble of soloists of the Moscow Philharmonia “Madrigal” will perform in Kazan within the framework of the 11th international festival “Classical Guitar in the XXI century”, which will be held from 8 to 13 of April.
For 10 years of the festival, it was visited by 20 thousand people. Musicians from 23 countries of the world took part in it, including duet “Katona TWINS” from Great Britain, Rhythm Future Quartet from the USA, Adriano Del Sal from Italy, and many other artists. Today “Classical Guitar in the XXI century” is one of the largest guitar festivals in the post-Soviet space.
This year the program includes 5 concerts, master classes, lectures, and refresher courses. Two collectives will perform on April 8 at the GSCH named after S. Saidashev: Ensemble “Madrigal”, specializing in music from different eras, and “Flamenco Trio” with Carlos Pignana, Carmen Maria Coy, and Miguel Orengo. Students of the Kazan State Conservatory will show their achievements in the Rachmaninov Hall of the conservatory on April 9. On April 11, Dimitrovgrad will host a concert of the Athenian guitar duo Dusty Woodruff and Matthew Anderson. They will perform in Zelenodolsk on April 12. On the next day, there will be a gala concert in the hall of the National Cultural Center “Kazan” in the capital of Tatarstan with the participation of the Frauchi quartet, Kazan guitarists' band led by Alexander Lavrentiev, Ainur Begutov, an Honored Artist of the RT, and the Athenian guitar duo.
The festival “Classical Guitar in the XXI Century” was established by the Ministry of Culture of the RT, the Kazan City Administration, and the Department of Culture, said the organizers.
