<p> An extensive festive program has been planned in Kazan on the Day of the City and the Republic, including the opening of Yelmai Children's Park, the Kazan Autumn Opera Festival, a bike parade, and performances by the Bratiya Grim and Dima Bilan. Deputy Head of the Executive Committee, Guzel Sagitova, shared details about the program of the holiday. </p> <p> “A little more than a week remains until the celebration of the City Day and the Republic Day. For us, this is an important annual event, which, according to tradition, coincides with the completion of many important facilities. This is a kind of indicator of the state of the urban infrastructure. Due to the preparations for the BRICS summit, construction, renovation, landscaping, and decorative work have increased several times, - said Ilsur Metshin. - A lot of work is underway to prepare the city for the large-scale event, alongside professional standards are rising.” </p> <p> “Today, the level of competence has significantly increased. The team of the Executive Committee of Kazan and colleagues from the government and federal authorities are performing well-coordinated work, not only in terms of quantity, but also quality and on time. We have learned how to work together, and this is evident from the projects we have completed,” - Ilsur Metshin said. </p> <p> The celebration will begin with the awarding of new honorary citizens and those who have been included in the Kazan City Hall's Book of Honor. </p> <p> Next, the largest children's park in Tatarstan, Yelmai, will open on the Kremlin Embankment. As part of the celebration of the Year of the Family announced in Russia for 2024, 45 newlywed couples from Tatarstan will officially register their marriages at the Kazan Family Center. They will be welcomed by honored guests and prominent artists of the republic. </p> <p> Residents and tourists can also get acquainted with the bike culture at the “Two Kremlins” motorcycle festival at the Kazan Family Center. The event will culminate with a performance by ST. Bikers will be seen riding a column towards the Kazan Family Center along Kremlevskaya Street, Karl Marx Street, Vishnevskogo Street, Universiade Avenue, and Profsouznaya Street, and ending at the Kremlin Dam. </p> <p> The square in front of the Palace of Farmers will host the traditional open-air opera festival “Kazan Autumn”, which will be organized by the State Symphony Orchestra of Tatarstan under the direction of Alexander Sladkovsky. The evening performances will feature young opera singers Dmitry Cheblykov and Maria Barakova, a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre and winner of the Glinka International Competition and the Tchaikovsky Competition. </p> <p> A large festive concert program will take place at the Kazan Family Center. The artists from the city's Philharmonic, the participants of the “MIR Station” festival, the singer Fauzia, the young Tatar artist “Dyshat”, the Bratiya Grim band, and Dima Bilan will perform. The celebration of the City Day and the Republic will end with a fireworks show over the Kazanka river. </p> <p> “This year, as in previous years, we will pay special attention to the families of the participants of the special military operation and invite them to the main festive events,”- concluded Guzel Sagitova. </p>
