The Youth Film Festival in Kazan will open with the film-winner of the Cannes Festival-2018

“Joueurs” by Marie Monge will be the first one in screenings at the CLC “Lenin”.

(KZN.RU, August 22). The X International Youth Film Festival will open in Kazan with the screening of the film “Joueurs”. The film was a winner of the Golden Camera of the Cannes Festival-2018 for the best directorial debut. The screening will take place in the Cultural and Leisure Complex of V. Lenin on September 3.

The festival will be held from 3 to 6 of September at three venues: the cinema of the CLC “Lenin”, the Kazan Federal University and the Kazan State Institute of Culture. Non-competitive film screenings and master classes will be organized among beginning filmmakers in addition to the competitive program. Such experts as Yury Bykov, a director, Kirill Razlogov, a film critic, Alireza Shakhrohi, a film distributor from Iran, Nina Kochelyaeva, the program director of the Sochi film festival, Daria Charusha, an actress, and others were among the guests of the festival.

The drama “Joueurs” was the debut for director Marie Monge. The film tells the story of two gamblers who embark on an underground casino world. Stacey Martin, known for the film “Nymphomaniac” by Lars von Trier, and Takhar Rakhim, famous by the movie “The Prophet” by Jacques Odiar, starred in the film, reports the organizers of the festival.

The X International Youth Film Festival will be held in Kazan simultaneously with the VI Annual Educational Forum “The Time of Cinema”.
