The WorldSkills Championship will gather a record number of contestants and experts in Kazan

Ticket sales for the opening and closing ceremonies of the championship will begin at the end of May.

(KZN.RU, May 14, Alsu Safina). 100 days remain before the opening of the WorldSkills Championship on professional skills in Kazan. The competition will be held from 22 to 27 of August. The championship will be attended by a record number of contestants and experts in the entire history of the WorldSkills. This was announced today at a briefing at the exhibition center “Kazan Expo” by Emil Gubaidullin, a project manager of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019.

He said that 1377 contestants from 67 countries of the world will perform in the world championship and 1304 experts will evaluate their skills. First guests are expected in Kazan on August 16. 3500 volunteers who have already started training for the competition will help to organize and conduct the championship.

The main and temporary infrastructure will be involved in the exhibition center “Kazan Expo”. Participants will live in the WorldSkills Village (Universiade Village). In addition, more than 80 collective accommodation facilities in Kazan and neighboring areas will be involved.

The opening ceremony of the world championship will be held on August 22, the competition will close on August 27. Both ceremonies will be held at the stadium “Kazan Arena”. “We expect a large performance that reflects the traditions of the peoples of Russia”, said Emil Gubaidullin. “Of course, we will touch on the whole history of the development of the vocational education system”. 240 artists will be involved in the ceremonies. Some of them have already been selected, in particular, dancers. The head of the project WorldSkills Kazan 2019 reported that the organizers received applications from 24 dance bands. The casting will continue until May 15.

The central action of the closing ceremony will be the awarding of contestants (about 130 awards will be presented). The event will also include passing of the championship flag to the next host city Shanghai.

Residents and guests of Kazan can visit the competitions, as well as the national championship in May, for free. Ticket and registration for a child is not needed”, explained Emil Gubaidullin.
