<p> (KZN.RU, January 22). The Kazan International Airport served 3 million 141 thousand passengers in 2018. This is 19.8% more than the previous year when the aircraft transported 2 million 620 thousand passengers. In total, 1842 flights were done at the airport in 2018. </p> <p> </p> <p> During the World Cup, the airport served flights from Bogota, Doha, Paris, London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Leon, Vienna, Krakow, Zurich, Warsaw, Innsbruck, Brussels, Cologne, and other cities of the world. In addition, the route network of the airport in 2018 consisted of 81 directions, 48 of which are international. </p> <p> </p> <p> The growth of passenger traffic on domestic airlines was 17.9%, 2 million 12 thousand passengers were transported. In 2018, 1 million 129 thousand passengers were served on international routes, an increase was 23.1%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The popular Russian domestic directions are Anapa, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, the growth has increased by more than 100%, as well as Sochi and St. Petersburg. In addition, the passenger traffic on the Kazan-Mineralnye Vody route increased more than seven times. At the same time, the largest number of passengers on domestic flights were carried on direction Moscow-Kazan-Moscow – 1 million 391 thousand passengers. </p> <p> </p> <p> Among the international destinations, the largest number of passengers were served in the Antalya direction – 454509 people. The popularity of such Turkish resorts as Bodrum and Dalaman has increased. Other international destinations with a positive trend in 2018 were flights to Dubai, Istanbul, Djerba, Thessaloniki, Phuket, Frankfurt, and other cities. </p> <p> </p> <p> Last year, new destinations opened at the Kazan International Airport: Alanya, Tbilisi, Batumi, Tehran, Bologna, Uvda (Israel), Minsk, Pardubice, Haikou, as well as domestic flights to Makhachkala, Yaroslavl, Usinsk, Novosibirsk, Belgorod. The flight to Sharjah operated until 2016 has been resumed. </p> <p> </p> <p> Already in January of this year, the airport launched flights to Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Salekhard.
