(KZN.RU, January 19). The international airport “Kazan” served a record number of people in 2017. Passenger traffic grew by 37.1%.

In 2016, 1 million 912 thousand people were transported, and by the results of the last year – 2 million 623 thousand 423 passengers. 15 thousand 631 flights in 72 directions are performed.

“The passenger traffic on international flights has doubled," the press service of the airport said, "This is the first time in the history of the Republic of Tatarstan that such a high figure for air traffic volumes has been achieved in the history of the Republic of Tatarstan."

The largest increase was in the passenger traffic from Kazan to Dubai (196.2%). But the most popular international destination was Antalya (377.5 thousand passengers). The list of in-demand also included Frankfurt am Main, Prague, Bangkok, Helsinki, Phuket, Cam Ranh, Barcelona, Goa, Dalaman, Larnaca, and Istanbul.

Domestic flights were also in demand. The absolute leader was the Moscow-Kazan-Moscow route, which over 1 million 264 thousand people used and this is 27.6% more than in 2016. Flight to St. Petersburg had the increase by 43.2, Gelendzhik – 87%, Ufa – 121.5%, Nizhnevartovsk – 25.4%, and Mi Mineralnye Vody – 8.1%.
