(KZN.RU, March 22). The international campaign “Earth Hour” will be held on March 30. According to the tradition, the Kazan City Hall will also join it. On this day, the illumination of the buildings of the Executive Committee and the City Hall will be turned off for an hour.

Anyone can take part in the action. From 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, you need to turn off the lighting of residential premises, electrical devices that are not related to ensuring the safety of citizens' lives, and also take other measures aimed at reducing electricity consumption.

“Earth Hour” is an international campaign, during which the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) calls for turning off the lights for one hour as a sign of caring for the future of the planet. At the moment, this is the most massive environmental campaign on the planet. More than 2 billion people all over the world in 188 countries take part in it. The illumination of more than 18 thousand architectural monuments goes out, according to the website of the Earth Hour organizers.

In Russia, the campaign was first held in 2009, with more than 30 million residents take part in it. The theme of the Russian Earth Hour 2019 is “Care for nature!”.
