<p> Today the road services of Kazan switched to a winter mode. A total of 550 units of snow removal equipment will be involved in the cleaning out of the city this winter, including 132 combined road machines and 103 tractor collectors. The mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin checked the readiness for the winter operation of the municipal unitary enterprise “Gorvodzelenkhoz”, which is responsible for the maintenance of roads among four general contractors. During a press tour with the participation of the local media, the mayor checked the operation of the new equipment and talked to the employees. </p> <p> <b>«Snow will not surprise us»</b> </p> <p> Municipal unitary enterprise “Gorvodzelenkhoz” is responsible for the maintenance of roads with an area of 7 million square meters on the territory of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of the city. The chief engineer of the enterprise Radik Sattarov reported to the mayor that the enterprise is ready for a winter mode. 30 combined road vehicles, 33 tractor collectors, 21 loaders and 7 snow loaders will provide the cleanliness of roads in the districts. "Snow will not be a surprise for us-we receive a daily information about the weather conditions from forecasters. Today, some of our machines are still working in the summer mode, the conversion of combined road machines is actively continuing, in which the watering system is changed to a spoil system", - Sattarov said. In addition, this year the company's vehicle fleet was increased with 9 mini-tractors and 3 city cat sweepers. </p> <p> The flexibility of the new equipment was evaluated by the head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Denis Kalinkin, who participated in the inspection. </p> <p> <b> «From Kazan to Helsinki»</b> </p> <p> Deputy head of the Executive Committee – Chairman of the Committee of land improvement Igor Kulyazhev, showed the mayor of Kazan a new special equipment and said that for the winter season for cleaning out the city was additionally purchased 25 mini-tractors and 10 specialized sidewalk machines suitable for year-round operation. "Last year, there were many complaints about the condition of the sidewalks. This year we have taken appropriate measures, now all pedestrian sidewalks, tourist routes will be cleaned by mini-tractors. This will improve the maintenance of the road network", - said I.Kulyazhev and added that this winter the equipment will clean from the snow 1900 km of roads – the distance from Kazan to Helsinki. </p> <p> The mayor of Kazan noted that the new equipment purchased with the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan will be able not only to maintain bus stops, sidewalks, but also tourist routes, as well as public spaces of the city. </p> <p> <b>«Ready for winter»</b> </p> <p> The deicing material was purchased - 15 thousand tons of sand-salt mixture and 2 thousand 600 tons of reagent. In total, 75 thousand tons of sand-and-salt mixture and 6.5 thousand tons of reagent were purchased for the deicing of city roads. At the end of the year it is planned to purchase another 13 thousand tons of reagent, explained I. Kulyazhev </p> <p> "All enterprises are ready. The ice is crucial for traffic, given the fact that the number of cars is growing, but the coordinated work of enterprises allows us to cope with the tasks that the weather imposes to us, – I.Metshin said. – We are ready for any snow attack, but we need to understand that no one promises to catch a snow on the fly – any road has a standard cleaning time, which in Kazan was set strictly". </p>
