The Mayor of Kazan assessed the garbage collection from yard areas

<p> (KZN.RU, January 2, Ksenia Shvetsova). Communal services in Kazan work in an enhanced mode during the New Year holidays. The garbage is taken out from the territories of apartment buildings and individual residential buildings daily. About 120 garbage trucks work in the city. Just by noon today, they transported about 6 thousand cubic meters of waste, whereas on ordinary days a maximum is 5-5.5 thousand cubic meters per day. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, assessed the garbage removal from the city’s yards. Together with Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee, and Dmitry Anisimov, the chairman of the Committee for Housing and Communal Services, he examined the yard of houses №8 and. 12 on 8 Martha Street and thanked Kazan citizens for cleanliness. </p> <p> </p> <p> Today, about 120 garbage trucks were involved in the work in Kazan. In total, 152 units of special equipment and 1500 janitors are at the disposal of management organizations for cleaning the city. “On January 1, about 800 janitors and 60 units of equipment have been working. Today, there are already 1100 janitors and 86 units of equipment. Tomorrow we will work in a usual mode again”, said Dmitry Anisimov, the chairman of the Committee on Housing and Communal Services Committee. He noted that garbage is regularly removed both from the territories of apartment buildings and from the settlements. </p> <p> </p> <p> Looking around the yard on 8 Marta Street opposite school №15, Ilsur Metshin noted that the city was already clean in the morning after the New Year night. “Today, from 8 am, we drove and looked at the whole city. The garbage collection is well organized. Container sites are in good condition everywhere”, said the Mayor. “There is no rubbish piles in 5 meters near the garbage container. People carefully fold the bags on top. I thank the citizens for the culture of waste disposal, for cleanliness. People’s culture has improved”. He added that the work of the janitors is of great importance in the New Year holidays. Each of them knows exactly what time the garbage truck arrives and clean from early morning. </p> <p> </p> <p> The head of the city drew attention to the fact that Kazan citizens willingly use containers to collect PET bottles but not safe space very economically. “If the bottles were twisted at least a little, much more would fit in the container. But this is our task to explain to citizens how to collect waste. In the meantime, I just want to thank them for their cleanliness and accuracy”, said the Mayor. He urged communal services to speed up work during the Christmas holidays. “The next stage of the hard-mode work needs to be scheduled for January 7 and the morning of January 8”, he said. </p> <p> </p> <p> From January 1, a new procedure for handling municipal solid waste began to operate in Russia. The OOO UK PZhKH has become the regional operator that is now responsible for garbage collection from Kazan and the western zone of Tatarstan. The task of the operator is the collection of waste, sorting, extraction of hazardous waste and secondary raw materials for further processing, and safe disposal of non-recyclable residues. The same carriers will take out the garbage as before, having about 130 garbage trucks in their fleet. </p> <p> </p> <p> Innovation in federal law did not affect the efficiency of public communal services. They continue to take out garbage daily and, if necessary, attract additional forces. On the territory of multi-apartment buildings, the responsibility for organizing the removal of garbage is entrusted to the management companies, HOA and HBC. </p>
