The Mayor of Kazan congratulates the former residents of the dilapidated houses on housewarming

Ilsur Metshin visited the Galimzyanov family in the residential complex “Salavat Kupere”.

On New Year's Eve, more than 80 Kazan families will move from dilapidated residential buildings to new apartments under the housing resettlement program. The Galimzyanov family was one of the first to receive keys in the residential complex “Salavat Kupere”. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited their new apartment on Ilgam Shakirov Street. The Galimzyanovs were among 267 families who planned to resettle in 2022, but managed to do it earlier.

“I would like to thank Tatarstan President for this program. It was supposed to be completed in 2025, but thanks to the decision of Rustam Minnikhanov, this was possible two years earlier. Fifteen hundred Kazan residents from 51 dilapidated houses have already moved to new apartments”, - the Mayor said.

As the couple said, they have lived in their old house on Zheleznodorozhnikov Street for more than 40 years. “We didn't even expect this to happen. The house was recognized as dilapidated in 2016, and resettlement to new house was scheduled for 2024. Now we are moving to a new apartment together with our daughter”, - Nail Zakarievich said.

As pensioners noted, they got the keys from new apartment three days ago and already commended the floor heating, because there were big problems with this in the previous one.

The new dwellers conducted a small tour for the Mayor of Kazan and told him that, in addition to other advantages of new apartment, there is more space. Instead of 52.3 sq.m, the family got an apartment with an area of 71.3 sq.m. for free. I. Metshin appreciated a beautiful view out of the window. According to pensioners, moving to the twelfth floor was unusual at the beginning, but they have already got used to it.

According to Rinat Shamsutdinov, head of the Housing Policy Department of Kazan, 37 families from dilapidated houses are planned to move into this 18-storey building.

At the end of the visit, the Mayor of Kazan presented the family with a certificate for the purchase of home appliances. “We will try to make this area even more beautiful. We will establish new infrastructure and plan to open new polyclinics. Next year we will consider the transport issue. I wish you happiness and good health”, - concluded I. Metshin.

For reference, from 2019 to 2021, 33 dilapidated houses were resettled in Kazan, 733 people moved to new housing. The resettlement of citizens continues. The total amount of funding for the program was 974.9 million rubles, including 623.7 million rubles from the federal, 344.2 million rubles from the regional and 7 million rubles from the municipal budgets.
