The Mayor of Kazan checked the readiness of the snow-removing machines to work in winter conditions

567 special equipment units are prepared for work in winter conditions in Kazan, up to 900 units of special equipment will be involved in declared of the plan “Buran”.

(KZN.RU, November 13, Ksenia Shvetsova). 567 special equipment units are prepared for work in winter conditions in Kazan. 142 combined road machines, 114 brush tractors and 311 snow loaders are planned to use for snow cleanup. The readiness of snow-removing machines for work in winter conditions was cheched today by Ilsur Metshin during his visiting the MUP "Gorogskoe blagoustroystvo". He examined the updated special equipment motor-pool and met with the employees of the company.

The MUP "Gorogskoe blagoustroystvo" acts as the general contractor on the winter maintenance of roads on territory of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts. The total area is 4,1 million square metres.

The company has 135 special equipment units, 76 units are involved in work for winter period, including 35 combined road machines. The special equipment motor-pool is being updated constantly. So, since 2016 the company purchased 14 new machines: 5 units are for own means and 9 ones are by the republic budget.

As Eduard Vafin, the deputy of the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, told that the work on updating of the special equipment motor-pool allows to raise the quality of snow cleanup. Ilsur Metshin really took an interest, how many machines will be involved for the work on the average for one season. “All depends on the weather conditions. We remove from 400 units technician, if active precipitation loss is observed, then we will increase amount to 600 units. All contracts are made to engagement of additional equipment to snow removal“, - Eduard Vafin told and also added that up to 900 units of special equipment would be involved in declared of the plan “Buran”.

The city will carry out an adjustment of the route maps of the work of the cleaning equipment, prepare places for receiving snow, reagents and sand-salt mixture. In total 80 thousand tons of sand-salt mixture and about 10 thousand tons of reagents have been already prepared. Besides as E.Vafin noted that in January it is planned to acquire 14 thousand tons of reagents additionally.

We will remind, in Kazan there are 6 stationary snow melting points for snow utilisation of full capacity 7 thousand tons per day and 8 temporary places of warehousing of snow. More than 900 thousand tons of snow were removed from the city streets last year by late March.
