<p> (KZN.RU, July 8, Ksenia Shvetsova). Kazan has applied to host the match for the UEFA Super Cup 2022-2023. Helsinki, Minsk, Belfast, and Tirana also take part in the bidding campaign. Despite the high competition, the capital of Tatarstan has every chance to win the competition and accept the Super Cup match, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, at the Business Monday today. </p> <p> </p> <p> “For the first time, we were aiming at holding this match in our country. There were other events. For example, Moscow hosted the UEFA Champions League. But the Super Cup match, where the winners of the European League and the Champions League meet, might be held in our country for the first time”, said I. Metshin. </p> <p> </p> <p> The site of the Super Cup is chosen in the conditions of fierce competition among the major cities of the world, noted the Mayor. “The application campaign is no less serious than it was for the right to hold the Universiade or the FINA”, he noted. “Today there are four candidates already, including Helsinki, Minsk, Belfast, and Tirana. Metshin. </p> <p> </p> <p> The UEFA Super Cup is the official football tournament that opens the European season.
