The Mayor of the city on the renovation of social infrastructure: «Our goal is not to slow down»!

<p> This year, nine new social facilities are planned to be constructed in the capital of Tatarstan – schools, kindergartens, hospitals, sports venues, and a camp, as well as renovation of the social infrastructure. Ilya Korotikhin, Director of the Department for the Maintenance of Social Facilities, informed about these developments during the Business Monday meeting. </p> <p> «Our goal is not to slow down the pace of renovation the social infrastructure, which we achieved last year during the preparation for the BRICS summit. We continue to lead not only in the Volga Federal District but also among million-plus cities», – said the Mayor of Kazan. </p> <p> Renovation of some social facilities will take several years to complete. «Nine new social facilities and 45 renovations – this is a large-scale project that needs to be finished in time, some of the facilities will be transition. At the same time, the educational and medical processes at these facilities will not be disrupted», – the Mayor emphasized. </p> <p> The construction of a new school for 1,224 students will begin in Leto residential complex under the national project «Youth and Children». This four-story building with an area of 24,600 square meters will have two gyms, swimming pools, an assembly hall, and a canteen with 612 seats. A new kindergarten for 220 children will be constructed in 33 Gorodok residential complex. </p> <p> A general practitioner and pediatric office is planned to be built in the Vishnevka residential area under the national project «Long and Active Life». Additionally, two more polyclinics with capacities of 400 and 200 patients per shift are planned to be constructed in the residential complexes Vesna and Volzhskie Prostory. The construction of the admissions and diagnostic department at Hospital-18 will continue at the expense of the republican budget. </p> <p> Five new sports sites will be opened to encourage an active lifestyle. Four of them are located at schools № 14, 17, 22, and 120. The fifth ground will be constructed at the Smena sports school. </p> <p> Since 2013, 129 sports grounds have been built in different districts of Kazan under the republican program, said Ilya Korotikhin. </p> <p> The renovation of the Narmonka children's health camp is underway. New dormitories are being constructed in place of old buildings. The camp will have a club, a dining hall, a medical center, and sports grounds. </p>
