The crosses consecration for the domes of the revived cathedral of the Our Lady of Kazan will be in less than a week

(KZN.RU, June 1). The construction of the Cathedral of the Our Lady of Kazan continues in the center of the capital of Tatarstan. On June 6, an important event is planned. The Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan will consecrate the crosses on its domes, reports the press service of the Tatarstan Metropolis.

Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, signed the decree on the reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Our Lady of Kazan in 2015. The repair and restoration work began two years ago. The first stage of the reconstruction of the Cathedral is planned to be completed by November 4.

On May 23, Mintimer Shaimiev, State Councilor of the RT, held a regular working meeting on the site of the reconstruction of the cathedral. According to the press service of the President of the RT, a lot of works were finished at that time. The installation of brick arches was completed, the painting conservation was carried out. Works on concreting small domes were made on the domes of the cathedral, the installation of the metal frame of the central dome was completed. Architectural elements along the western and southern gables were erected on the facades of the Cathedral, facade plastering was started. The southern and western entrance panels of the Cathedral are concreted in the upper church. Screeds of floors, concreting of iconostases, and other works were made.
