“Ski Track of Russia-2019” will be held in Kazan on February 9 at three sites

<p> (KZN.RU, February 4, Alena Miroshnichenko). On February 9, Kazan will join the All-Russian Mass Ski Race “Ski Track of Russia-2019”. Starts will be held at three sites: in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky Forest, in the floodplain of the Kazanka River at Gavrilov Street, and at the stadium “Lokomotiv” in Yudino. This year, at least 20 thousand citizens are expected to attend the event. Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairperson of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports, reported this today at the Business Monday at the Kazan Executive Committee. </p> <p> </p> <p> The start of the ski race for residents of the Sovetsky, Vakhitovsky, and Privolzhsky districts at 9.50 am will be given in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. At 10.30 am, residents of Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts will start in the floodplain of the Kazanka River along Gavrilov Street. The center of the sports festival will be the stadium “Lokomotiv” in Yudino. “Along with the residents of Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts, the strongest skier sportsmen, as well as heads of republican and city services and departments, will start here”, said S. Vostrikova. The competition will open by start for athletes at a distance of 5 and 10 km at 9.30 am. At 10.45 am, the opening ceremony will be held, and then the mass races will start. </p> <p> </p> <p> The chairperson of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport noted that for the convenience of residents who chose the site of the stadium “Lokomotiv”, a park-and-ride will be arranged along the road leading to Izumrudnoe Lake and shuttles to the starting area of the competition. The festive atmosphere will be created by creative performances. </p> <p> </p> <p> Today the credentials committee has begun its work in the press center of the Central Stadium. Those who wish to take part in the “Ski Track of Russia” can register by presenting a certificate of medical clearance for competitions and a life and health insurance. Participants will be given a starter kit: a chest number and a cap. The credentials committee will work daily until February 8 from 9 am to 5 pm. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Ski Track of Russia” for decades unites fans of skiing and has already become a good tradition. Kazan is a regular participant in the movement”, noted S. Vostrikova. She added that this year, more than 500 thousand inhabitants of the country will take part in the All-Russian mass ski race. In addition to Kazan, the action will also be held in 72 regions of Russia. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Fans of skiing have opportunities to enjoy the sport in all districts.
