Summer weekend in Kazan: Days of Switzerland, open-air film screenings, and dancing on the embankment

This weekend, the citizens of Kazan could watch open-air films in the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, master the new dance direction at the Zumba-style festival in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest, get acquainted with Switzerland, without leaving the city. Everyone will be able to choose the right event for themselves in the weekly poster of the portal KZN.RU.

Festival of board games “IgroFest”

June 8 from 12 pm

Kazan will host the first festival of board games “IgroFest”. It will take place on the Kremlin Embankment. More than 500 different games will be available for guests of the event. Also, everyone could participate in outdoor games and competitions. The entrance to the festival is free.

Festival of colors

June 8 at 3 pm

A festival of colors will be held in the amusement park “Kyrlay”. All guests will enjoy animation and contests, a cover band, and many other kinds of entertainment.

Open-air films in the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda

June 8 at 8.30 pm

The improvised cinema will be located near the house №10 on Mardzhani Street. The first film that the audience will see will be “Pele: The Birth of a Legend”. Comfortable chairs will be prepared for the audience, or you could sit on the lawns. The total capacity of the cinema is about 400 seats.

Festival of Zumba style

June 9 at 5 pm

A festival in the Zumba style will be held in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest as part of the social and sports project “Green Fitness”. They will train Zumba Fitness, Zumba Gold (age category 50+), Strong by Zumba, and Zumba Kids. Competitions and prize draw, a photo session for adults and children, as well as hand out tasty and healthy gifts will be organized. The entrance is free for everyone.

“Days of Switzerland”

June 8 and 9 from 12 pm

The festival “Days of Switzerland” continues in Kazan. The program includes contests, master classes, lotteries, concerts, and gifts.

One of the sites of the festival will be the park “Chernoe Ozero”. There will be tastings of traditional Swiss dishes and drinks, master classes, lecture halls, and performances of alphornists.

On June 8, the festive program will start at 12 pm. The regular performance of alphornists is planned, and at 2 pm, the presentation of the “First Aid Kit and the secrets of natural beauty from Switzerland” with free samples will begin. Everyone will be able to learn how to prepare fondue at a master class at 4 pm, and at 6 pm, listen to a lecture on the best hotels in Switzerland. The program of the second day of the festival will end with a concert.

On June 9, festival events also start at 12 pm. On this day, citizens and guests of Kazan will again watch performances, learn how to make fondue, learn about the Swiss experience in sorting household waste at 3 pm, and attend other lectures.

During the festival, fair-sale of Swiss producers' goods will be held in one of the city’s shopping centers at Pobedy Prospect, №141. In the Center for Contemporary Art “Smena”, Kazan residents will have an evening reception, tasting of Swiss cuisine and screening of Swiss cinema.

Weekend on the Kremlin Embankment

June 8 from 9 am and June 9 from 12 pm

Weekend activities on the Kremlin Embankment continue. In the morning at the pier, citizens can join yoga classes, you need to pre-register for a class. At 11 am, a CrossFit training session begins at the workout ground. An entertainment program is scheduled for the evening. A master class on West Coast Swing starts at the workout at 6 pm, and salsa and bachata at 8 pm.

On June 9, at 12 pm, the event “Draw, Kazan” will begin at the Alley of Art. The dance festival DanceFest will be held at 7 pm at the pier.
