The Good Wave festival opens in Kazan. For the fourth year, it gathers talented children with disabilities from all over Russia. Tomorrow, the capital of Tatarstan will host the final concert of the first regional qualifying round. A press conference for journalists took place today at the Saidash cultural center.
The first regional qualifying round of the festival took place this week, due to the complicated epidemiological situation it was held in Moscow online. Members of the jury evaluated creative videos of children aged 6 to 16 years. Young artists applied for participation in four areas: music, instrument playing, choreography and dramatic arts.
The Good Wave festival is aimed at promoting the creative development of gifted children, including children with disabilities and those in difficult life situations. Its main idea and slogan is “Make dreams come true!”, – said Azat Abzalov, head of the Department of culture.
The new format of the festival allowed expanding its geography and attracting creative children, said Stella Khachanyants, Director General of the Igor Krutoy Academy of popular music. According to her, in the future, the format of the qualifying rounds of the competition in remote mode will be continued.
Twelve contestants who received the highest number of points in their areas became winners of the qualifying round and got the opportunity to perform tomorrow, November 28, at the regional concert, which will be held in Kazan, at the Saidash cultural center.
“The concert will be held without an audience, but in an interesting format for children. They will not perform in front of an empty hall – children will take part in a TV shoot, this is a new interesting experience for them”, - commented Elena Gorodetskaya, Director of the Igor Krutoy Academy in the Volga region. The final gala concert of the festival and awarding of winners will be held in the capital of Tatarstan next year – on November 28, 2021.
People from all over the world will have an opportunity to watch the concert, which begins tomorrow at 17.00.
The Good Wave charity festival of children's creative activity was established in 2017 on the initiative of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and People's artist of Russia, composer Igor Krutoy. The Presidential Grants Fund, the government of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Good Kazan charity foundation support the festival. The Igor Krutoy Academy and the Kazan Mayor’s Office organize the festival.
