The municipal Philharmonic performers, the Kazan dance ensemble, and the Kazan Nury folk instrument orchestra performed for the elderly.
The Golden Autumn concert dedicated to the day of the elderly was held today in the cultural center named after Lenin in Kazan. The festive event launched the city's decade of senior citizens.
Performers of the Kazan city Philharmonic, the Kazan dance ensemble, the Kazan Nury folk instrument orchestra, as well as honored artist of Tatarstan Gulshat Imamieva, people's artist of the republic of Tatarstan Rustem Zakirov and others performed for the elderly. Popular songs, medleys on Tatar folk songs and retro medleys were performed on stage.
The concert hall of the cultural center was 50% full. “Presently, Tatarstan department of the Russian Agency for Health and consumer Rights allows the reservation of 70% of seats at such events. But we care for the older generation, so we managed seating the audience next but one”, - said Azat Abzalov, head of the Department of culture. He also added that wearing masks and using hand sanitizers were among the mandatory requirements for the holiday. Each guest had to take temperature at the entrance.
For information, due to the coronavirus pandemic this year, it was decided to hold two city concerts. So, the second concert will be held tomorrow, October 2, at the Saidash cultural center. “It is convenient for us that this year the concert is held at two venues, - said Viktor Karyagin, Chair of the city Council of veterans. – This is good from the point of view of both security and geographic accessibility. In general, this year, despite the restrictions, the city has organized a wide program of events. The retired persons can get free access to theaters, baths, museums, libraries, and social clubs. Of course, the scope is smaller than last year, but the coverage is still large”.
During the decade of elderly, retirees can take part in sports competitions, master classes, and free visit the baths, museums, excursions and concerts. Charity events and activities for social, psychological and other assistance to the elderly will be held in all districts of the city, as well as hotlines for enquires.
Azat Abzalov noted that Kazan is almost completely restored its work project “Zhiznelyub”. According to the head of the Department of culture, the most relevant and popular areas are now Mobile educational program and remote online classes. “People have realized how important it is now to be able to use mobile communications and do creative work remotely”, - he said. The project operates in 13 different directions at 56 city locations.
