Sixty-five new NEFAZ buses are equipped with air conditioners, USB charging and video cameras

<p> On the eve of the BRICS summit, Kazan will receive 100 new buses. Some of these buses have already been put into operation to replace outdated ones, and today the new batch was inspected by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. These buses are located at the Municipal Unitary Enterprise PATP-2. The advantages of these new buses include their passenger capacity, long service life, and air conditioning. By the end of this year, a total of 157 new buses will be delivered to Kazan, and these buses will run on gas-powered fuel. </p> <p> Albert Mukhametshin, head of the MUE PATP – 2 presented NEFAZ buses-5299-40-57 to the head of the region, Rustam Minnikhanov, and the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin. The new models were delivered in addition to the previously received 20 vehicles. The bus can accommodate up to 96 passengers. </p> <p> «Thanks to the support of the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, transport companies have purchased 157 buses. Today we are receiving another 65 buses. In total, 100 new buses will run in Kazan by the BRICS summit», – the Mayor said. </p> <p> The Rais of Tatarstan and the Mayor of Kazan looked around a bus which has comfortable seats, air conditioners, noise insulation, a driver's call button, USB sockets and anti-slip covers on the handrails. The buses are equipped with a ramp, a wheelchair space, a continuous leakage current monitoring device, air conditioning, and eight cameras. </p> <p> The Rais of Tatarstan and the Mayor of Kazan inspected the driver's workplace with additional mirrors and a new dashboard. «These new buses are modern, reliable, convenient for passengers and for the driver», – the mayor added. </p> <p> Albert Mukhametshin noted that the buses have a Euro-5 eco-class engine. They have 10 gas cylinders installed, and natural gas will be used as motor fuel. </p> <p> «The new buses are more efficient because they run on gas fuel. This not only reduces carbon dioxide emissions, but also reduces overall costs by 40-60% compared to diesel fuel and gives high profitability», – the Mayor said. </p> <p> The new buses will be used by the Municipal Unitary Enterprise PATP-2, serving 40 urban and 5 seasonal routes. </p> <p> For reference, in 9 months, Kazan's public transports transported 167.9 million passengers. </p> <p> 835 vehicles run on 73 routes, and since the beginning of the year, passengers have used PATP services 86.8 million times. The company's fleet includes 261 methane buses, and 15 more are expected to arrive soon. </p> In 2023, the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Metroelectrotrans received 25 new MAZ-303T22 trolleybuses. By the end of the year, another 39 will be added to the fleet, with the first batch having already arrived in Kazan.<br>
