(KZN.RU, January 14, Ksenia Shvetsova). 26 fires occurred in Kazan from December 24 to January 9, which is 35.8% less than in the same period last year. Ferdinant Timurkhanov, the head of the Civil Protection Directorate, reported on the period of special fire prevention regime in Kazan, which ended last week. According to him, there were no emergencies in the New Year and Christmas holidays in Kazan.

Despite the fact that 4 sites for launching pyrotechnic products were organized during the New Year holidays in the city with rescuers, medical workers and firefighters, many citizens launched fireworks in unauthorized places. As a result, 4 people suffered from unauthorized use of pyrotechnics, including one child.

“In total, the holidays in Kazan passed without emergency situations as a result of the preventive measures taken. The tasks set to ensure the planned measures were implemented”, summarized F. Timurkhanov.
