In 2021, Kazan residents adopted 406 dogs from the “Zoocenter”

Citizens can get acquainted with the pets of the shelter and choose a new friend at any time.

In Kazan last year, residents of the city adopted 406 dogs from the “Zoocenter”. Kazan residents took one dog during the New Year holidays, said Rustem Nurullin, director of the Zoocenter.

“Thirty-eight dogs found new owners at the Paw of Friendship charity events, which were held in the parks and squares of the city last year, - R.Nurullin added. - We plan to continue holding these events, the next ones are scheduled for spring.”

To date, 290 dogs live in the shelter and wait for new owners. Citizens can visit the dogs in the shelter, take a walk with them on a special area, which was equipped last year, and adopt a dog.

At the end of 2021, a new building for puppies – the so-called day-care - was opened at the Zoocenter. At the time of opening, there were about 30 puppies. Now many of them have grown up, and they have been moved to outdoor warm enclosures, others have been adopted. Presently, two puppies live in the building, R.Nurullin said.
