Kazan citizens will be able to ride on a unique solar powered catamaran

The vessel will stay in the capital of Tatarstan from 28 to 30 of July.

(KZN.RU, July 24). On July 28, a unique catamaran, running on electric motors and solar batteries, will appear in Kazan. The vessel will arrive within the framework of the expedition “Ecovolna”, which runs along the water area of the RT. The scientific and technical festival “Ecovolna” will be held for the citizens, where everyone can ride on a unique catamaran, talk with the thought leaders of the expedition, the crew, and learn about the use of alternative energy sources in Russia and the world.

The catamaran went on an expedition along the rivers of Russia on the route St. Petersburg – Veliky Novgorod – Moscow – Astrakhan on May 19. For three months, it will pass more than 5 thousand kilometers through 20 regions of Russia. The expedition together with leading universities studies the hydrochemical characteristics and water quality along the route and, as a result, will build an interactive environmental map. The scientific and technical festival “Ecovolna” will be held in 14 cities of the route. Scientific-popular lectures, master classes, contests, quizzes, and quests in the field of environmental technologies will be organized within the framework of it.

In addition to Kazan, other residents of the republic will be able to get acquainted with the amazing vessel. The catamaran will stay in the capital of Tatarstan until July 30 and will be carried to the Kamskoe Ustye on July 31 and to Tetyushi on August 1.

The unique high-tech water transport in the near future can be launched into mass production, reports the ANO “National Center of Engineering Competitions and Competitions”.

The festival will be held on the Kremlin embankment on July 28 from 11 am to 2 pm, said the organizers.
