Kazan citizens received the first St. George ribbons this year

The All-Russian action was launched in the Gorky Park.

(KZN.RU, April 24). Today, the activists of the Kazan branch of the “Volunteers of Victory” and the Center for the Development of Volunteering began distributing in Kazan symbols of the Victory Day, St. George's ribbons. The All-Russian action "George ribbon" started in Gorky Park.

The distribution of ribbons began with a solemn ceremony. Timur Khalikov, the deputy chairman of the Public Chamber of the RT, Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs, Anna Sineglazova, the director of the Center for the Development of Volunteerism of the RT, and others took part in it.

Volunteers were told about the sources of the action and the symbolic meaning of the St. George ribbons. Alexander Zharinov, the acting head of the Tatarstan branch of the social movement “Volunteers of Victory”, presented certificates on the establishment of public centers for civil and patriotic education of students “Volunteers of Victory”. The representatives of the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs presented souvenirs to the activists of Kazan search movement who went on an expedition in the Leningrad region.

The action takes place in Kazan annually. It will end on May 9, and by this time the volunteers plan to distribute 15 thousand ribbons.
