(KZN.RU, December 12). On December 15, the music art laboratory “Tat Cult Lab / music” starts in Kazan. The theme of the project is “New Tatar music of a modern megalopolis”. The event will host educational master classes and lectures, a roundtable, and will end with a concert where music lab participants will perform their own releases on the stage of the bar “Sol”.
On December 15, 16, and 21 in the Telegraph Space lecture hall will be held educational lectures from Alexander Goryachev, an electronic musician (Moscow), Vasily Filatov, a sound designer, composer, sound producer and founder of the Institute of Sound Design, studios SoundDesigner.pro and Sound Sunday (Moscow). Roman Urazov, a music producer and mix engineer (St. Petersburg) and Ilya Baramia, an electronic musician, beat-maker and sound producer (St. Petersburg), will also share their experiences. Kazan experts will also be present at the project: Mitya Burmistrov, a musician and clip-maker, Renat Kharis, a poet, Elmir Nizamov, a composer, and Mikhail Manzhelievsky, a sound producer and arranger.
On December 21, a roundtable on the theme “The Future of Tatar Music” will be held with the participation of organizers, curators and invited experts of the laboratory. Journalists, public figures, representatives of the media and urban communities are invited to the event. The entrance to the lectures and the roundtable is free by the registration on the official website of the art laboratory.
On the final day of the art lab on December 25, a final concert will be held at the bar “Sol”. The results of the 10-day work will be presented there. The special guest of the party is the singer, beatboxer and music producer AYGYUL.
The “Tat Cult Lab / music” is the third, final art laboratory, which takes place in 2018. In November and December, two laboratories devoted to theatrical and multimedia art have already taken place. Their result was performances included in the permanent repertoire of Kazan universities, and complex technological projects on media art.
Accepting applications for participation in the laboratory continues until December 15. After the selection, the participants will be divided into five teams. Curators will work them. The curators are well-known Kazan sound producers, composers and musicians: Valery Korotkov, Yury Fedorov, Mitya Burmistrov, Ilyas Gafarov, and Ilnaz Tarkhanov.
The goal of the “Tat Cult Lab / music” is to unite young professionals from various fields, organize the process of sharing experience, knowledge and skills among amateurs, professionals and artists of the state level, raise the prestige of modern Tatar music and provide an opportunity for young bands to show themselves, reports the Ministry of Culture of the RT.
