Kazan citizens are invited to discuss a new tour product in the footsteps of the World Cup

The project will be connected with the legacy of the championship and places where the teams that played and trained in Kazan stayed.

(KZN.RU, July 17, Alsu Safina). It is planned to create a new tourist product in Tatarstan following the end of the World Football Championship. To take part in the discussion of this project, Sergey Ivanov, the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the RT, invited everyone to attend the briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT.

“I would like to draw citizens and residents of the republic to find a unique idea. How to wrap up the events that took place in Kazan during the World Cup in a tourist product”, said Sergey Ivanov. “We are ready and would like to discuss this with everyone. I I invite you on Thursday at 6 pm to the State Committee for Tourism of the RT. We will hold a roundtable and discuss what we can do. The discussion will be open. I'm sure that we’ll find good solutions”.

According to Sergey Ivanov, the new tourist product will be connected with the legacy of the championship and the places where the teams that played and trained in Kazan stayed. The main object of the tourist product will be the stadium “Kazan Arena”, which was visited by some of the best players in the world. In particular, the French team, the new champions of the world, played there twice. “Our task is to make it a bestseller for the next few years. So that people could come here and plunge into the atmosphere, visit the places where the players were”, explained the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the RT.

More than 300 thousand tourists from 36 countries visited Kazan in the days of the World Cup. 254 thousand 448 spectators visited 6 matches that were held at the stadium “Kazan Arena”. 19 goals were scored in the capital of Tatarstan. There were three teams in Kazan: Australian, Japanese and Colombian. Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Sports of the RT, noted that the bases of the FC “Rubin”, the HC “Ak Bars”, and the ski complex “Sviyaga”, along with the base of “Dinamo”, the camp “Volga”, the renovated stadium “Electron”, the Central Stadium, and a number of others objects, are the legacy of the championship. “In general, the infrastructure is stunning”, he believes.

As for the stadium “Kazan Arena”, on July 29, it will host the match of the Russian Premier League. By the end of the month, temporary infrastructure will be dismantled, some of them will be left.

V. Leonov recalled that the stadium has been in operation for 5 years. “The territory in front of the stadium is actively used for sports and cultural events. Today there are prospects for the development of the adjacent territory. We are now formulating concepts. The task for us today is for “Rubin” to play at the “Kazan Arena”, so that people can come to see football”, said V. Leonov.

“It is important to understand that the stadium does not live by football alone”, he said. Stadiums can be used for large-scale shows. “There was a moratorium on holding any large-scale events in the stadium to keep in a good state”, reminded the minister of Sports of the RT. “We only conducted iftar, everything else was taken out of the stadium. We also discuss this concept. The holding of big shows and concerts is an element of income for the stadium. This is a common international practice”.
