Kazan citizens will learn how to restore the historical heritage venues

<p> The training at the “School of heritage volunteers” has started in Kazan – this is one of the largest educational volunteer projects, implemented under the national project “Culture”. </p> <p> This year, 40 students of the school in Kazan will be able to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in volunteer projects for the preservation of cultural heritage, as part of general and in-depth training programs. The training will be free of charge. </p> <p> The project is curated in Kazan by the Tatarstan regional branch of the Russian society of historical and cultural monuments. The program includes 7 hours of theory and 18 hours of practice. Students will get acquainted with restoration venues in Kazan, including those updated by the Tom Sawyer fest volunteer movement. The school has scheduled lectures on history and architecture, as well as master classes on working with three types of materials: wood, stone and metal. </p> <p> The training is delivered by experienced restorers, architects, experts in the field of historical heritage preservation and public figures. In particular, the lecturers are Deputy Chairman of the Monument Protection organization Farida Zabirova, Deputy head of the Tatarstan Committee for the protection of cultural heritage venues Svetlana Persova. Practical classes are conducted by Rustem Kamalov, PhD in Chemistry, and Yan Tinchurin, master of blacksmithing. At the field classes, the masters will show conservation work on sites, types of work on monuments, which can be carried out by volunteers. </p> <p> All citizens of Kazan over 18 can become a member of the “School of heritage volunteers”. The registration is open on the portal dobro.ru and on the website волонтерынаследия.рф. In 2020, the “School of heritage volunteers” project will be implemented in ten regions of Russia, where 2 thousand people will be trained, according to the organizers of the Tom Sawyer fest movement. </p>
