For three years, the volunteer has taken part in 56 events.
Student of the Kazan State Energy University Aziz Mamedov became a volunteer of the year in Tatarstan. The award ceremony was held the day before at the concert hall of the Volga Academy of physical culture, sports and tourism. This year the prize was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Kazan volunteering.
Aziz Mamedov is 21, he has been in the volunteering for three years. During this time, he took part in 56 events, such as-the 2018 FIFA World Cup and WorldSkills Kazan 2019. The total number of volunteer hours worked by Aziz was 1,768, of which 657 are in 2019. “Volunteering is a way of life, new emotions, communication and huge experience, each event is unique and requires a lot of dedication”, - Aziz Mamedov says.
This year, at the WorldSkills Championships, Aziz was responsible for the transport support - he made sure that the shuttles ran according to the schedule, helped guests get to the competition site at Kazan Expo. The Volunteer of the year award – is first of all a great responsibility and a powerful drive to further growth. “I want to develop in this field and become a part of the major world competitions”, - Aziz Mamedov said about his plans. Kazan student dreams of volunteering at the 2020 UEFA European football championship.
Other activists were awarded in the nominations “Always prepared!”, “Opening of the year”, “Team-leader of the year”, “Silver volunteer” and volunteers who made a great contribution to the organization of the 45th World championship WorldSkills Kazan 2019.
Today, there are about 900 organizations in Tatarstan, uniting more than 46 thousand volunteers.
